My husband brought this up initially. He said do they know that this song really isn't talking about what they are trying to convey.

The person who developed the commercial was probably on his way out of the company and decided to use the song and commercial together to show what a tool the guy who approved the commercial is. The boss might be some corporate jerk who thinks that Iggy Pop can be bought in the candy aisle at Wal-Mart.
No, the song is about quitting heroin actually.
